communication

Write a formal report (approximately 5 pages) with a letter of transmittal and an executive summary, based on a situation of your choice. Label the executive summary “Executive Summary” so it is readily distinguishable from the rest of the report.

The report may be either informational or analytical. It may be any of the types listed in your reading except a proposal (since youll be writing proposals in the next module). Hopefully, it can be a report that you actually have to do for work or for a community group. Evaluate whether you need visuals and, if so, include them as appropriate.

There are 3 parts to this assignment:

  1. One situational analysis, filling out the from your course text. The situational analysis is your planning document for the next part, the actual communication.
  2. One formal report including a letter of transmittal and an executive summary. Make sure that your report includes all report sections appropriate for your context, and that it is appropriate for the communication variables you noted in your situational analysis.
  3. Assignment Completion Questions
(Note that you will answer these questions for each written assignment and you will refer to this information in W15’s discussion.)
    1. What are the 1-2 main concepts that you learned in this module?
    2. What challenged you in learning the concepts in this module and applying them to create your communication? What might you do in the next module to lessen the challenge?
    3. Identify a real situation that you encountered, or that you anticipate you will encounter, and explain briefly how you might apply a concept you learned in this module to that situation
