Discuss a segment of your facility’s plan (or the example plan).( i would like to talk about code white since i work in merillville indiana and during the winter we face a harsh weather

Disaster preparedness has been a major focus since the 9/11 terrorist attack in 2001. Much planning has been done since that time. How successful has our planning been? Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and Hurricane Sandy in 2012, makes one wonder. Please read through the articles posted for insight. (You will not be tested on the articles.) You will have to use your “logon” to see the articles within our library.

You have reviewed a law applicable in your area (during week 3). Now let’s look at plans that are in-place within your facility. Your analysis of the plan that directly affects your practice is the ideal situation because you may be asked to “live the journey!” However, there have been situations that our students are employed in a setting other than a hospital (ie: clinic, home health, not employed, etc.). If this is the case, please choose one of the example plans posted on Moodle to analyze. Do not attempt to analyze hospital-wide plans!! This is too time-consuming! However, you may have to “skim” large parts of the plan to focus on an area that has a “short-coming.”
This activity is worth 8% of your total grade. You can expect individual feedback within a week of the Thursday 8pm due date/time.
