There are two parts to this discussion assignment. Each part is worth 15 points. Clearly separate Parts 1 and 2.

Choose one of the three contexts of anti-union rhetoric from this weeks module and analyze the rhetorical choices made to craft an anti-union message. Your analysis should address all the following:

• What tone and mood do the authors of the videos set when describing the company vs. describing unions?
• What rhetorical choices (repeated words, phrases, imagery, visuals, music, etc) do they make to establish this tone and mood? Tone is the attitude an author has toward a subject or an audience conveyed through word choice and style of presentation. Mood is the overall feeling, or atmosphere, of a text created by the author’s use of imagery and word choice.
• What assumptions do the authors of the videos make about each of their different audiences (new employees, managers, employees during a union election)?

Your answer to Part 2 must be at least 250 words. Use specific examples and direct quotations from the sources to develop your answer.
