Discussion: Creating and Analyzing Frequency Tables

About:

You will be collecting data on a variable of your choosing and presenting the results on a frequency table. Come back to this activity to attach your frequency table results. Before attempting be sure to review the material on how to create a frequency table from our module lessons and textbook chapter 2.

Directions:

Step 1: Create a survey question that you will be asking to at least 15 people. The people you select does not have to represent a scientific sample, in other words you can ask this question to friends and family or post it on social media. See the following example:

Example Survey Question (Must include answer choices, no open-ended questions)

Q: What is Your Favorite Streaming Service?

a. Netflix, b. Prime, c. Hulu, d. Disney +, e. Apple +, f. HBO, g. other

Step 2: After you have collected your data use it to create a frequency table with your data.

Step 3: Post and share your finished table! And answer the discussion questions/prompts.

Discussion Post Prompts:

b. Summarize your results, interpret your findings. In other words, what patterns or trends do you notice? Describe the percentages.

c. What can the data tell us about the people/respondents who completed your survey? What insights can be gained from your data collection?

Requirements:

A frequency table attached to the discussion post

Our original posts must be answered in paragraph format

1 paragraphs per question is required

In total this equates to a minimum of about 150 words total

Include your word count at the end of your discussion post

Review your writing before submitting for clarity, grammar, and accuracy

Replies should follow our reply guide and rubric. Minimum of two replies are required.
