Learning Goal: I’m working on a english report and need the explanation and answer to help me learn.
You will pick a work that we have read (or will read) and create an argument about that work. This means that you will take a particular position about the work. For example, you could say I believe that Jorge Luis Borges’ short story, “The House of Asterion” is a labyrinth that wants readers to empathize those that are different from us. Borges employs a labyrinthine plot to evoke an emotional response in his reader.
That example shows me that you will be focusing on the plot and linking that to a labyrinth. You will need to use evidence from the work to support your point. You would use research to show what others have said about Borges, this work, or his other works. You need at least three outside sources.
Your final paper should be, at minimum, 1,250 words in length. It should be in MLA format with a Works Cited page. All quotes should have MLA in text citations.
