Financial Plan assignment: FOLLOW these instructions

Because finances are essential for life, they also impact relationships and can be a source of conflict or disagreements. This is an opportunity to put into practice some of the relationship principles you have been learning.

1. Review scripture for financial principles and examples of financial planning, stewardship, and financial responsibility.

2. Meet with your spouse or significant other to together develop some short-term (next 1-5 years) and long-term (20 years and beyond) goals. Please come up with 3 short-term and 3 long-term. Make sure your goals are measurable and specific.  The goal of "We want to be financially content" is difficult to measure.

3. Write a one-page reflection on the process. We want to know how the process of talking about this with your spouse/significant other went. Where did you find yourself practicing active listening? Were there points of disagreement, and how did you work through them? Did you use the principles for having a difficult conversation? What Magic Phrases did you use? What scriptural principles helped guide your conversation?
