Humanities Question

Introduction

You will demonstrate what you have learned in the final level, defending the humanities, of the campaign by composing a codex (slideshow) on a topic that correlates with the defense of the humanities level. You will create a visual presentation to explain a historical (older than 300 years) game changer in two of the following areas 1. mythology/religion, 2. science/technology, 3. art, 4. music, or 5. literature and show how these game changers are pertinent in the modern world (within the last 100 years).

Your first game changer must be a historical person. Your historical figure can be from any culture or region. Analyze the shift this person had on the culture where they originated. Remember you are explaining how the game changers affected the subjects and how they impacted the culture. Additionally, you will analyze aspects of personal responsibility (the ability to connect choices, actions, and consequences to ethical decision-making) in relation to the historical person you chose.

Your second game changer can be any other topic from the humanities from any culture or region. The second significant development can be the start/end of a religion, the introduction/repression of art, music, literature, etc. Analyze the shift this development had on the culture where it originated. Additionally, you will present it with a social responsibility (the understanding that an individuals actions should benefit the larger society) perspective explaining why it is important to continue to evolve with civic responsibility in mind.

Remember you are explaining how the game changers affected the subjects and how they impacted the culture. You are telling the story of your topic. Point out the customary practices/beliefs before the game changers and then after its introduction to the culture, what changed in that subject area, and how this game changers actions are pertinent in the modern world? As a story, it needs a beginning, middle, and end. For example, Imhoteps scientific/technological advancements in Egypt and now how these building techniques have influenced modern construction, the Sumerians use of the written language and now how the use of written language is more prevalent in our day-to-day lives than ever before.

The ability to analyze, extrapolate, and share data/information will be key in any industry as it shows the ability for critical and independent thinking. Likewise, it shows the development of soft skills such as using computerized presentation software, creating files, documenting source information, and being able to organize information in a coherent manner. This will serve you well once you master the TSTC realm and enter the workforce realm by being able to appreciate and demonstrate your awareness of previous advances in the humanities, as they add to the future of humanity.
