Interview a special education teacher and a general education teacher who have taught for fifteen or more years. How do they perceive the field of education changing, especially in the area of serving students with special needs? Do they feel this is a move forward? What are their concerns or suggestions? How do their opinions differ? How are they similar? What is their perception about the development of and current importance of collaboration in schools? Using Handout 1.4, ask the teachers to describe their involvement in each IDEA expectation concerning collaboration.
