                                               COURSE OVERVIEW

HUM 5100 (Integrative Project for Human Services) is intended to be a capstone course in the students program.

This six-week course serves as the final course in the MA Human Services program curriculum. The Capstone Integrative project course brings together a number of concepts, theories, and practices the students have learned throughout the program in prior courses. By completion of this course, the students will have a hypothetical research proposal to evaluate, plan for, or modify a program in the Human Services field.

This final class focuses on completing the Research Proposal Project. In Week 1 of this course, a research problem was identified for use in this final project. In Week 2, an annotated bibliography and an Evaluated Research checklist was completed for each source. In Week 3, a project proposal outline was completed. At the end of Week 5, a draft of the Research Proposal Project was due. Instructor feedback was provided to these drafts for students to incorporate to polish the final version of this project due the final day of Week 6. Any reading material from earlier in the course or prior courses will be helpful for the students as the material applies to their topic or methodology in this Research Proposal Project. The learning activity this week will focus on reflection of the entire process, with consideration given to strengths, weaknesses, and challenges encountered throughout the learning process in this course. The course will conclude with the submission of the completed research proposal. There is no discussion forum this final week.
