As a counselor who is grounded by my spirituality it can sometimes be challenging to work with someone who chooses to not acknowledge any spiritual aspect of treatment. My spirituality helps me to have a set of rules to not only work by but live by and it could do the same for the client if they are open to it. “Religion and spirituality may support the process of counseling by infusing both the client and the therapist with a set of values and principles that strengthen their relationship and improve the therapeutic process” (Frunza, 2019). My spiritual preference also allows me to be able to work with clients who have a different belief system from me. It reminds me that I am to treat all clients according to by education and to the best of my ability.
