One of the components for the model is to find the purpose. When the finding the purpose, it helps the speaker to get some good main ideas, organize the subtopics, and finds the supporting materials (Beebe et al., 2021). Before you determine your purpose, you have to decide the specific purpose that you want to use which is to inform, entertain, or to persuade the audience. To inform means that you will define, describe. or explain what you are going to talk about. To persuade means that you are changing the audience's ideas or to urge them to do something. To Entertain means that you are assuming the audience (Beebe et al., 2021). The specific purpose helps the reader to guide their speech preparation, and at the end of the speech the reader must specify the behavior. Example of Specifying the behavior is saying that. At the end of my speech the audience will be able to take restrictions off their televisions.

When developing your speech, I believe organizing it from beginning to end is quite beneficial in minimizing public speaking anxiety, I know for a fact I hate public speaking but getting all my notes together beforehand helped the stress a bit. Preparing and understanding public speaking anxiety in order to build confidence also takes time and not everyone gets it on the first go. Another takeaway from the textbook is using deep-breathing techniques to overcome anxiety, I can remember how my heart rate would increase and make breathing a little difficult. Let alone probably good advice is don’t forget to have a steady rhythm of breathing throughout the speech, the last thing you want is to speak too fast or pass out. It is also important to remember when building your speech and giving the speech is know the general purpose of it, informative, persuasive, or entertaining (Beebe et al., 2022). I was wondering about everyone’s specific way of doing research for your paper, going to the library, online, or other?

One of the components of the audience-centered public speaking model identified is analyzing the audience. Analyzing the audience involves gathering and interpreting information about the audience to understand better their attitudes, beliefs, values, and expectations (Beebe et al., 2021). This information can affect the content, style, and delivery of the speech to communicate effectively communicate with the audience.

Analyzing the audience is essential because different audiences have different needs, interests, and expectations. For example, a speech given to a group of college students may need to be more informal and interactive than a speech given to a group of corporate executives. Analyzing the audience allows a speaker to anticipate potential objections or questions and prepare responses in advance (Isaee & Barjesteh, 2022). This can help build credibility and trust with the audience. Various ways to gather information about the audience include conducting surveys, observing the audience, and researching demographic information. By taking the time to analyze the audience, a speaker can increase the effectiveness of their message and make a stronger connection with their audience.
