Maternity

A primigravida at 36 weeks gestation is at her providers office for her prenatal visit. The nurse obtains a blood pressure of 142/92, P 76, R 18, and T 98.8 F. The nurse obtains a urine specimen, which tests negative for glucose. The nurse asks the patient how she has been feeling as she auscultates fetal heart rate at 158. The patient states she has had some swelling in her ankles. The nurse assesses the ankles and notices 2+ edema and 1+ edema in the calves of both legs. The nurse documents these findings along with noting the urine is a dark golden color. What will the provider order for this patient? What would you physically do for the patient.
With what complication is the patient presenting, and what teaching should the nurse provide?
